Yellow Iron Oxides are not heat resistant and can only be used below 180ºC-190ºC. At such temperature, the goethite structure of the Yellow Iron Oxides turns into the hematite structure characteristic of the Red Iron Oxides. Therefore a color change from yellow to red is clearly observed.
The way to prevent such color fading is to protect the Yellow Iron Oxide structure with an encapsulation to withstand high temperatures (260ºC, 5min), allowing its use in Coil, Powder Coatings and Stoving Paints.
The encapsulation, specially developed by Nubiola is made of inorganic compounds only and guarantees high compatibility with any binders in all sort of Coatings applications.
Moreover, Nubifer Y-7050, being a Yellow Iron Oxide, shows all the excellent attributes which are characteristic of such range of pigments. |
